An Autumn Gathering at Dr. Neil's Garden

Dr. Neil's Garden was created in 1963 by two local GPs who simply wanted people to slow down and experience the quiet power of nature. In November, with the loch still and the trees stripped back, it feels exactly as they intended.

We're bringing together two practices that sit naturally alongside each other — forest bathing and aromatherapy. A chance to settle into the season, connect with others, and leave with something made by your own hands.

Forest Bathing
Led by Rosie, forest bathing guide and psychotherapist - we'll spend two hours moving gently through the autumn landscape of Dr. Neil's Garden. Slowing down, noticing, soaking it in. Autumn asks us to release and turn inward, and this practice creates space to feel that. We'll close with a tea ceremony outdoors, time to reflect before moving inside. Please dress for all weathers.

Aromatherapy
Inside Thomson's Tower, a remarkable octagonal building sitting right on the banks of Duddingston Loch, Gill will guide you through creating your own 10ml therapeutic perfume using pure essential oils. Each one is chosen for its therapeutic properties as much as its scent, and today's palette draws on the deep, grounding notes of autumn. We're also working with the energy of the new moon - a natural moment for intention-setting and quiet beginnings so you'll leave with a scent that's genuinely yours, made with purpose.

A light lunch is provided between the two sessions, with space to connect and settle.
